In conjunction with Canadian Interuniversity Sport and Scotiabank Place, the host organizing committee for the 2013 Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s basketball championship – the Final 8 – announced today that single session tickets for the three-day tournament are currently on sale. Ottawa will welcome the Final 8 for the fourth time in March 2013, following a two-year hiatus when the tournament was played in Halifax.
Doubleheader session tickets are available for all five of the tournament’s sessions, which commence with quarter-final games on Friday, March 8, at Noon and 2:15 p.m. With games scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., the Friday evening session will feature the host and defending champions Carleton University Ravens playing their first game of the tournament in the nightcap.
Friday’s games are single-elimination matchups, with the four winners advancing to Saturday evening’s semifinal session games at 5:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. The consolation semifinal session takes place earlier on Saturday, with games at Noon and 2 p.m.
The lone Sunday session features start times for the fifth-place game at 11 a.m., the bronze medal game at 1:15 p.m. and the championship game at 3:30 p.m. All five sessions (11 games in total) will take place at Scotiabank Place.
Doubleheader session tickets, which include entry to two games, will be available starting at $12 per session. Full tournament packages, including limited floor seating and centre court VIP club seats, are currently on sale starting from $125.
