Canadian Tire Centre Policies

Welcome to Canadian Tire Centre! To help ensure your visit to the Canadian Tire Centre is a memorable one, please take time to read this simple guide and familiarize yourself with the building layout and policies. 50/50 Draw

At each Senators home game, fans have the opportunity to play the OLG 50/50 raffle. The 50/50 raffle is a fund-raising program for the Ottawa Senators Foundation, which is a registered Canadian charity that provides funding and gifts-in-kind to other charities with a focus on disadvantaged youth. The 50/50 tickets are on sale prior to the game until the beginning of the third period. The winning ticket number is announced half-way through the third period and is also posted throughout the building, and on the scoreboard. Winners have 30 days to claim their prize. Accessible Parking

Parking spaces for guests with disabilities are available on a first-come, first-served basis in Lot 3 at the southeast corner of the Canadian Tire Centre. To access the accessible parking lot you must have a government issued hang tag; those without a government issued hang tag will be redirected to a general parking lot. Accessible Seating

Accessible seating is available on various levels of the arena, depending on the type of event and seating configuration. When available, accessible seats may be purchased online through Ticketmaster.

Air Horns, Whistles, Noisemakers & Laser Pointers

For the comfort and safety of all patrons, laser pointers, air horns and other noisemakers are not permitted in the Canadian Tire Centre.

Bags / Luggage / Backpacks / Sports Bags / Large Bags

In conjunction with NHL protocols and for your safety and expedited entry into Canadian Tire Centre, bags are restricted to clutch or wallet style bags smaller than 4″x6″x1.5″ which will be subject to contactless security screening. These bags cannot include a metal or chain style strap and must clear our walk-through metal detectors.

Bags, backpacks, purses, totes, clear bags, fanny packs and camera bags are not permitted. Exceptions will be made for guests who require a bag for medical devices and childcare/diaper bags. Guests who have these bags will be required to enter at Gate 3 (Palladium Dr. and Huntmar Dr., parking lots 3 and 4).

Onsite bag checks will not be available.

Banners

No signs, posters, or messages on any garment with explicit language, profanity or derogatory characterization directed toward any person.

Banners/Signs, flags and signs are not permitted in the Canadian Tire Centre for non-Senators events. For Senators games, guests are permitted to bring banners/signs into the arena provided they do not interfere with the game and other fans’ enjoyment of the game. Banners/Signs can neither cover any advertising or building signs, nor can they compete with existing building signs and advertising and they must not be attached to the building in any manner. They also cannot carry disparaging or obscene messages. Signs greater than 24″ × 24″ in size must be able to roll up or fold. Poles in excess of 36 inches used to display banners or flags are not permitted.

Bilingual Employees

Many Canadian Tire Centre staff members are fluently bilingual.

Box Office

The Box Office is located on the east side of the building at the main entrance, Gate 1. The box office opens two (2) hours prior to event time and is closed on non-event days.

Tickets for all Canadian Tire Centre events, including Ottawa Senators’ single-game tickets, are available to purchase anytime by visiting Ticketmaster.ca .

Bus Parking

Parking passes may be purchased on-line at www.ticketmaster.ca

Cameras

Recording devices such as, audio (such as recorders) or video (such as the use of the video option on digital cameras) are not permitted in the Canadian Tire Centre. However, guests are permitted to bring small still cameras without a camera bag to any Senators game. Still cameras with the option of the use of detachable lenses are not permitted. The camera flash option can only be used during the pre-game warm-up. Cameras cannot have any type of transmitter mechanism for the purpose of using a flash or strobes. The use of the camera during games is allowed only from the patron’s ticketed seat. The use of the camera cannot interfere with other fans’ enjoyment of the game. Canadian Tire Centre is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings, and patrons are discouraged from leaving their belongings unattended. Still Camera policy will vary by Canadian Tire Centre event. The Ottawa Senators/Canadian Tire Centre expressly reserve their rights with respect to any photos obtained by Canadian Tire Centre guests hereunder.

Canadian Tire Centre

Canadian Tire Centre is the 19,153-seat home of the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators. This state-of-the art entertainment facility has been designed to accommodate sporting events, family shows, concerts and trade shows in a spectacular fashion. Canadian Tire Centre’s address is 1000 Palladium Dr., Kanata, Ontario, K2V 1A5.

Canadian Tire Centre Offices

Canadian Tire Centre administration offices are located within Canadian Tire Centre, on the arena level at Gate 2. Business hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Phone: 613-599-0100

Cellular Phones

Cellular phones are permitted in the Canadian Tire Centre, provided that their use does not interfere with other fans’ enjoyment of the event. In the event a show is a phone free show at the request of the artists, patrons will be notified prior to the show day.

Child Ticket Policy

Most Canadian Tire Centre events do not require a child who is less than two-years-old to have a ticket unless they are to occupy a seat. This policy will vary by event, so please inquire at time of ticket purchase.

Club CIBC

The elegantly appointed Club CIBC is located on the Club Level at the Gate 2 entrance. Club CIBC provides a lounge inspired experience to enjoy before and during hockey games and major concerts. Featuring a “small plates gastro-style menu” which is complemented with a handcrafted cocktail and private wine list. The menu designed by Executive Sous Chef Kyle Wilson, featuring local and seasonally inspired items.

Comments

If you have any comments concerning our staff or any element of the event you have attended, we would like to hear them. Please fill out a Canadian Tire Centre Comment Card available from any Guest Services staff member. Guests with comments may also call the Guest Services department at 613-599-0128 during event times.

Concessions

Food concessions at Canadian Tire Centre are operated by Aramark Sports and Entertainment. In addition, well-known items as Gabriel Pizza and Tim Horton’s are also available. Food and beverages obtained outside the Canadian Tire Centre are not permitted in the building.

Concierge Desk

For the convenience of our suiteholders, a Concierge Desk is located at Gates 2 and 3. Open on event days at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. respectively (for evening events), the Concierge Desk provides a variety of services to our suiteholders and club seat holders, including ticket drop-off and pick-up. When leaving tickets at the Concierge Desk for pick-up by guests less familiar with the Canadian Tire Centre, please ensure you specify Gate 2 or Gate 3. Tickets left for pick-up by non-suiteholders and non-club seat holders and their guests should be left at Will Call, located at Gate 1 in the Canadian Tire Centre.

Containers

We allow empty re-fillable water bottles into the building, as there are water filling stations throughout Canadian Tire Centre.

Doors Open

Unless otherwise stated, guests will be able to enter the arena 60 minutes before the scheduled start time of a non-Senators event.

Doors open for Ottawa Senators games 2 hours before game start time.

Dress Requirements

While visiting the Canadian Tire Centre, guests are required to wear shirts and shoes at all time.

Drink Responsibly

Canadian Tire Centre guests are asked to drink responsibly and choose a designated driver. Canadian Tire Centre management wants everybody to arrive home safely after our events. For information on our Designated Driver Program, please go to the Guest Services Booth located behind Section 201 on the Main Concourse.

Elevators

Elevators for access to gallery level suites are located at Gate 2 & 3 (north side and south side of the building). Guests with disabilities, gallery level suites holders and members of the media should be granted priority.

Emergency Phone Calls

Guests who expect to receive an emergency phone call during an event at the Canadian Tire Centre may register their seat location at the Guest Services Booth located behind Section 201 on the Main Concourse. The emergency phone number is 613-599-0128 during event times.

Emergency Vehicle Service

Canadian Tire Centre management and Indigo Parking provide emergency services to guests parking on the Canadian Tire Centre site. Please approach an Indigo Parking staff member or go to one of the parking booths for assistance.).

Fan Courtesy

During Ottawa Senators games, guests arriving or returning to their seats will be asked to wait until a stoppage in play before entering the arena bowl from the concourse to avoid disrupting the view of others. Improper conduct, which includes profane or abusive language, and throwing objects onto the ice or in the stands, will result in ejection from the building. Repeat offences will result in loss of ticket privileges as determined by Canadian Tire Centre management at its sole discretion Ottawa Senators season-ticket holders are responsible for the actions of others that use their tickets. NHL rules prohibit guests from interfering with play. Guests who fail to comply with these rules will face immediate ejection from the arena and possible criminal prosecution.

First Aid

Located on the Main Concourse behind Section 201. City of Ottawa Paramedic Services attendants are on hand during all events at the Canadian Tire Centre. Guests requiring first-aid assistance are urged to contact any member of the Guest Services staff.

Group Sales

Many of the events taking place at the Canadian Tire Centre offer special discounts and/or benefits to groups of 20 or more. Savings on service charges, preferred seating, ticket price discounts and personal service are just some of the bonuses given for organizing a group. Guest Services Booth

The Guest Services Booth, along with our first-aid facilities, are located behind Section 201 on the Main Concourse. Seating maps, seating problems, special needs and many other services related to your enjoyment of events are available from our Guest Services staff.

Ident-A- Child

Each time you visit the Canadian Tire Centre, drop by the Guest Services Booth Section 201 Main Concourse and your child will have a brightly coloured wristband securely affixed to his/her wrist. This band will indicate his/her seat location and full name. The Guest Services Representative will also register the child and guardian’s full names and the guardian’s seat location, which is kept in a log at Guest Services. Once a child is lost he/she is to approach the first Guest Services Representative they see and show them the wristband. The guardian, upon realizing he/she has become separated from the child should immediately go to their seats and wait patiently for the child and Guest Services Representative.

Infant Change Areas

Most restrooms include a counter suitable for infant care.

Lost Children

If you become separated from your child, please notify a Canadian Tire Centre staff member or proceed to the Guest Services Booth located behind Section 201 on the Main Concourse unless participating in the Ident-A-Child Program. (See Ident-A-Child).

Lost & Found

Did you lose something at the Canadian Tire Centre? Articles will be retained at the Guest Services Booth until the end of the event. Following events, please contact Canadian Tire Centre administration at 613 599-0114. All items are held for 2 weeks only, after which time they are donated to a local charity.

Meeting and Banquet Rooms

More than 10,000 square feet of space is available for your meetings, banquets, career fairs, product launches, etc. On-site catering is available, along with on-site audio-visual equipment and services and free parking! Merchandise

Souvenirs for most events are available at various locations around the building during events. Senators’ souvenirs are also available at Sens Stores, the Official Ottawa Senators’ retail store. The main store is located in the main lobby at Gate 1. It is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during all Senators hockey games at Canadian Tire Centre.

Ottawa Senators Offices

The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club administration offices are located within the Canadian Tire Centre, on the arena level at Gate 2. Business hours are Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the season and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during summer months. Phone: 613-599-0250.

Out Passes

Canadian Tire Centre enforces a strict no re-admission policy.  Any guests exiting the facility will not be allowed to re-enter the building.

Paging

Canadian Tire Centre is unable to provide general paging of guests. However, in the case of an emergency during Senators home games, you may call and leave a message on the Bell Mobility Guest Services/Fan Finder 343 551-4400 and a Guest Services representative will forward a message to the guest. The guest’s seat, row and section numbers are required.

Para Transpo

Drop-off and pick-up for guests requiring Para Transpo service is located at Gate 3 on the south side of the Canadian Tire Centre. Doors for Ottawa Senators games open 2 hours prior to game time and one hour prior to event start time for all other Canadian Tire Centre events. Wheelchair escorts are available at these times from Gate 3, and will take guests to their seats and make arrangements for pick-up at the end of the event. Wheelchairs cannot be retained by guests throughout the event. For Para Transpo reservations, please call the Para Transpo reservation hotline at 613-244-7272.

Pay Phones

Bell pay phones are conveniently located throughout the facility. Contact the nearest Guest Services staff member for the Bell pay phone nearest you.

Pets

All pets, with the exception of service animals, are not permitted in the Canadian Tire Centre. Please notify your ticket seller at the time of purchase if accessible seating is required for the convenience of your service animal.

  • Frisbees and/or beach balls
  • Laser pointers
  • Any mechanically enhanced noise making devices, specifically air horns with sirens, whistles
  • Spiked or studded jewelry or belts
  • Weapons and dangerous devices of any type such as firearms, explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, knives, etc.

Building management reserves the right in their absolute discretion to deny access for any item(s) deemed a safety concern or may result in an undesirable impact on the guest experience.

Illegal items will be turned over to Ottawa Police. If a guest is found in the facility with a prohibited item, the item will be confiscated, and, in some cases, the fan may be evicted from the building.

Projectiles

For the safety of all Canadian Tire Centre guests, any person found endangering others by throwing or tossing objects within the arena or onto the ice surface will face immediate ejection from the building.

Pucks

Pucks flying into spectator areas can cause serious injury. Please be alert in spectator areas, including after stoppages in play. If you are injured, please notify a staff member at once. Fans are welcome to keep any puck shot into the stands; however, NHL rules prohibit interference with any game in progress. Any fan interfering with a game will be ejected from the building.

Restaurants

Within the Canadian Tire Centre there are a variety of restaurants. Club CIBC, Bert’s, Legacy, Royal Oak, The Ledge Restaurant, which overlooks the arena for Senators hockey games, and the Brookstreet Lounge are open for Senators hockey games and most Canadian Tire Centre events.

Restrooms

Restrooms are conveniently located throughout the building. Please ask any Canadian Tire Centre staff member for the nearest location.

Safety First

Canadian Tire Centre is obligated to enforce a regulation that prohibits guests from bringing cans, bottles, containers and other potentially hazardous items into the arena. Warnings are posted at all arena entrances. Provincial laws also prohibit bringing alcoholic beverages onto the premises. Guests with questions concerning these regulations are advised to contact the Guest Services department at 599-0128 during event times.

Searches

If you are carrying a handbag, carry-all or backpack please be advised that for the safety and security of our fans and players, Canadian Tire Centre only allows small personal handbags or baby bags into the building. We recommend you leave your backpacks, large packages or other bags either at home or in your car. You should also be aware that all bags are subject to search before being allowed into the venue.

Additionally, some events may involve pat-down searches or magnetic wanding that will only be performed by qualified designated security personnel. Fans that refuse to submit to either a visual or pat-down search shall be refused entry and may not be eligible for a refund on their ticket purchase.

Senators Season Tickets

Scalpers

Ticket scalpers are not recognized ticket agents of Canadian Tire Centre. If you accidentally purchase lost or stolen tickets, you risk being removed from your seats upon the appearance of the legal and legitimate ticket holder. The Canadian Tire Centre ticket office does not sell tickets to be re-sold and will not sell tickets by mail, telephone or in person to anyone whom they believe may re-sell the tickets. Canadian Tire Centre strongly urges all guests to purchase tickets through established outlets and not to patronize ticket brokers or scalpers.

Silent Auction

A silent auction of unique and rare autographed collectible memorabilia is held at every Senators home game. Proceeds are donated to the Ottawa Senators Foundation.

Smoking Policy

As part of the re-entry policy, those attending games will be able to smoke outside of the venue before and after games and events only. Patrons will not be able to leave the venue to smoke and then return to the game or event. Smoking is not allowed inside the venue.

Suite Rentals

You can entertain clients, colleagues or friends in your very own private suite. For further information, please contact Canadian Tire Centre’s Suite Rental department at 613-599-0137.

Taxi Service

Taxi pick-up service is available at Gate 1 of the Canadian Tire Centre. Phones linking you directly to the taxi company are located beside the exit doors at Gate 1.

Ticketmaster

For the convenience of guests, tickets for all Canadian Tire Centre events and Ottawa Senators hockey games are available for purchase on-line at www.Ticketmaster.cawww.canadiantirecentre.com, or in person at the Canadian Tire Centre box office 2 hours before event time.

Ticket Stubs

Ticket stubs should be retained throughout the event to allow Guest Services staff to verify the seat location to which the ticket holder is entitled. Guest are not permitted to sit in seats for which they do not hold a valid ticket.

Videoboard Greetings

The Ottawa Senators Hockey Club is pleased to provide Sens fans with a unique service, allowing them a forum to announce birthday and anniversary greetings at a Senators’ home game. Please note that all Senators’ Special Greetings MUST BE SUBMITTED 48 HOURS BEFORE THE GAME that you wish the message to appear.

Water Fountains

Water fountains are located on the Club and Main concourses, and the upper-bowl levels.

Wheelchairs

If you require wheelchair seating, please inform the ticket seller or phone operator at the time of purchase. Canadian Tire Centre does have a limited stock of wheelchairs that are used for transportation purposes only, i.e. to and from your seat. Wheelchair escorts are available from Gate 3. Wheelchair seating locations are reserved for those who require accessible seating.
