Doubleheader session tickets on sale Monday, Feb. 10, for the 2014 CIS FINAL 8 Men’s Basketball Championship

OTTAWA – In conjunction with Canadian Interuniversity Sport and Canadian Tire Centre, the host organizing committee for the 2014 CIS men’s basketball championship – the Final 8 – announced today that doubleheader session tickets for the three-day tournament (Friday, March 7, through Sunday, March 9) will go on sale Monday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. Last March, Ottawa witnessed the top-seededCarleton University Ravens capture their third CIS title in as many years and become the first program in history to claim a ninth W.P. McGee Trophy with a 92-42 victory over the Lakehead Thunderwolves (No. 7 seed) in the championship game.

Doubleheader session tickets are available for all five of the tournament’s sessions, which commence with quarter-final games on Friday, March 7, at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. With games scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., the Friday evening session will once again feature the host and defending champions, the Carleton Ravens, playing their first game of the tournament in the nightcap.

Friday’s games are single-elimination matchups, with the four winners advancing to Saturday evening’s semifinal session games at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The consolation semifinal session takes place earlier on Saturday, with games at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The lone Sunday session features start times for the bronze medal game at 10:30 a.m. and the championship game at 2 p.m. All five sessions (10 games in total) will take place at Canadian Tire Centre.

Doubleheader session tickets, which include entry to two games, will be available starting at $12 per session. Full tournament packages, including limited floor seating and centre court VIP club seats, are currently on sale starting from $100.

The CIS Final 8 brackets, including the schedule of first-round matchups, will be released on Sunday, March 2.
