Canada’s premier figure skating tour, Investors Group Stars on Ice presented by Lindt, has brought together a superstar ensemble of Canada’s most beloved skaters to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its annual award-winning tour. The Investors Group Stars on Ice presented by Lindt 25th Anniversary Tour will celebrate the highlights and marquee performances of the past 25 years in a show that promises to bring fans of all ages the ultimate live figure skating experience, featuring a cast of Canada’s legends past, present and future. The special 25th anniversary tour will visit Ottawa on Sunday, May 3, for a 4 p.m. performance at Canadian Tire Centre.
Investors Group Stars on Ice presented by Lindt continues to be a pioneer in figure skating by offering Canadian fans the rare opportunity to witness some of the country’s most accomplished and artistically gifted champions performing together in both individual and ensemble routines. Four-time World Champion and four-time Canadian Champion Kurt Browning will not only headline the 25th anniversary tour, he will also direct and choreograph the show.
“This year’s show will pay special homage to 25 years of performing for figure skating’s greatest fans who have always supported the tour and myself personally,” said Browning. “All of the skaters will relate their current numbers to past performances that Canadian fans loved. We will even present a special ensemble number that will feature music, choreography and costumes from past shows as well as a look into the future of this successful franchise.”
Last year, Canada cheered the success of its Olympic figure skating team’s silver medal in the first-ever Olympic Team Figure Skating competition. Many of those medallists will join Kurt Browning on this special 25th anniversary tour, including 2010 Olympic Gold Medallists and two-time World Champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, three-time World Champion and 2014 Olympic Silver Medallist Patrick Chan, three-time Canadian Pairs Champions and two-time World Bronze Medallists Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford. Additional cast luminaries include Olympic Bronze Medallist Joannie Rochette; Olympic Bronze Medallist and World Champion Jeffrey Buttle; 2014 World Silver Medallists Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje; and Canadian Silver Medallist Shawn Sawyer.
